An 11-year-old boy from Redhakhol in Sambalpur district tragically took his own life after being scolded by his mother for excessive phone use.

The incident occurred in the Ambedkar Nagar area on Saturday evening. The boy, named Aryan Mukhi, was found hanging from a tree near his house.

Family members discovered him after he did not return home and rushed him to Redhakhol Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

Aryan’s father works as an auto-rickshaw driver, and his parents had hoped to enrol him in a better school. The police have taken stock of the situation but have not provided any comments yet.
