Locals spotted the headless body of a young man lying on the railway tracks near Budhamara station in Mayurbhanj district on Monday evening.

They immediately alerted Bangriposi police, who rushed to the scene and launched an investigation.

Police officers secured the area and recovered the body, which appeared to belong to a man around 25 years old. Since no identification documents were found, authorities struggled to confirm the victim’s identity. They began checking missing person reports and speaking with nearby residents to gather clues.

Meanwhile, the gruesome condition of the body raised serious doubts about the cause of death. Investigators are trying to determine whether the youth was run over by a train or murdered and dumped on the tracks to mislead authorities. The body has been sent for autopsy to establish the exact cause of death.

As the inquiry continues, police are collecting evidence and questioning witnesses to reconstruct the sequence of events. The disturbing discovery has unsettled the local community, with many expressing concern over safety near railway tracks and the possibility of foul play.

Authorities assured that they are exploring all angles and will pursue every lead to uncover the truth. The incident has sparked renewed calls for better surveillance and security measures around railway zones.
