In a shocking incident in Chandgaon Majurai village under Jagatsinghpur Sadar police station, a young woman was allegedly gang-raped on Monday night around 7 PM.
According to the complaint lodged by the victim’s father, the survivor was on her way to her uncle’s house to attend a birthday celebration when the horrific crime occurred.
The primary accused, identified as T Bhoi, allegedly forcibly dragged the victim towards a secluded field despite her resistance. There, two other youths waiting in the area attacked her, gagged her, and took turns assaulting her. The victim sustained severe injuries and excessive bleeding, as detailed in the FIR. The perpetrators reportedly threatened to kill her if she reported the incident to the police.
The victim is currently undergoing treatment at the Jagatsinghpur District Headquarters Hospital, where her condition is said to be critical. The police have detained a woman suspected of aiding the accused and are interrogating her, while the main perpetrators remain at large. The Jagatsinghpur Sadar police have launched a manhunt and are investigating the case thoroughly.
