As Mahashivratri approaches, a talented youth from Puri, Saswat Ranjan Sahoo, has created an exquisite miniature model of the Kedarnath temple using 602 matchsticks.
The model, standing 12 cm tall and 9 cm wide, took four days to complete and highlights Saswat’s exceptional artistic skills and devotion to Lord Shiva.
Each matchstick was meticulously assembled to replicate the revered pilgrimage site, showcasing the young artist’s precision and creativity. “This model is my tribute to Lord Shiva and a heartfelt greeting on Mahashivratri. The Kedarnath Temple holds immense spiritual significance,” Saswat shared.
Saswat, a resident of Kumbharapada, Puri, has been crafting sculptures since the COVID-19 lockdown. His previous works include a miniature model of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple and the chariots of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra, which gained him widespread acclaim.
His latest creation adds a creative touch to the Mahashivratri celebrations across the country, earning admiration for its artistic representation of the sacred temple.
