A tragic discovery was made near the Adenigarh outpost under Purunakatak Police Station in Boudh district, where a woman’s body was found under mysterious circumstances.
The deceased has been identified as Ranik Sahu (45), wife of retired teacher Ranjit Kumar Sahu, a resident of Gochhabari Sahi.
According to initial reports, Ranik had gone out for a routine errand near Chabura Mundia Munda Pathar canal, where her body was later found. The discovery has sent shockwaves through the local community.
Upon receiving the alert, SDPO Loren Routaray, Inspector Arun Kumar Singh, and a team of police personnel reached the site. A scientific team and sniffer dog unit were also deployed to assist in the investigation. Blood stains on nearby foliage, broken glass bangles, and a sharp weapon found near the body have led police to suspect a premeditated murder.
Sources indicate that the crime scene was staged to resemble a suicide, but forensic evidence suggests otherwise. Samples have been collected, and further investigation is underway under the supervision of the District Superintendent of Police.
