A tragic incident has shaken the town of Balasore after a young woman was found hanging inside a room of the Laxminarayan Temple located along National Highway 16 in Pathi Pentha under Bahanaga Block.
The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Susri Sangita Malik, daughter of Govind Chandra Malik.
According to initial reports, Sangita left her home around 10 AM on her scooter, informing her family she was heading to Barikpur Haat. When she failed to return and calls to her mobile went unanswered, her family began searching for her. They eventually found her scooter parked outside the temple. Upon entering the upper floor of the temple, they discovered her body hanging from a ceiling fan, with a scarf tied around her neck.
The family immediately alerted the police, who arrived at the scene and began a preliminary investigation. Based on the family’s complaint, suspicions of foul play have been raised. A scientific team has been deployed to examine the scene and determine the exact circumstances surrounding Sangita’s death.
The incident has sparked concern and grief in the local community, with many calling for a thorough and transparent investigation to ensure justice is served.
