A woman has been detained for allegedly murdering her husband in Hari Om Colony, near Mission Road, under Sundargarh Town police limits.

The victim, Dhruv Kerketa, was reportedly strangled to death by his wife, Urmila Kerketa, following a series of domestic disputes fueled by her alleged extramarital affair.

According to preliminary police reports, Urmila attempted to conceal the crime by taking her husband to a nearby hospital and attributing his death to natural causes. However, hospital staff suspected foul play and alerted authorities. During interrogation, Urmila confessed to the crime and claimed that two unidentified youths assisted her by administering sleeping pills to Dhruv before the strangulation.

Police are now working to identify the accomplices and determine the full motive behind the murder. The investigation is ongoing, with forensic analysis and witness statements expected to shed more light on the case.
