A tragic incident has rocked Nuapada, where the body of woman constable Rukmani Nag was found hanging from a tree near Nuapada Railway Station.

The Nuapada Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death, which has now taken a disturbing turn with the emergence of a video recorded by the deceased.

Rukmani Nag, who was serving in the Nuapada Police Department, reportedly took her own life after enduring alleged harassment and torture from her husband, Chudamani Sabar, and her mother-in-law.

In a heart-wrenching video recorded before her death, Nag detailed the abuse she faced, stating that she was driven to suicide due to unbearable mistreatment. She also appealed to the Nuapada Superintendent of Police (SP) to take strict action against her husband and mother-in-law.

Nag, who had entered into a love marriage with Sabar, a fellow police department employee, leaves behind a newborn child. The couple’s domestic life, however, was allegedly marred by ongoing conflicts, as revealed in the video.

The Nuapada Police have taken the allegations seriously and are investigating the claims of domestic abuse while continuing to probe the circumstances of Nag’s death.

Authorities are expected to examine the video evidence closely and take appropriate action based on their findings. Further updates are awaited as the police deepen their inquiry into this tragic case.
