After more than a decade of anticipation, WhatsApp has officially launched its long-awaited iPad app, marking a major milestone for tablet users worldwide.
The Meta-owned messaging platform now offers a dedicated experience tailored for larger screens, featuring video and audio calls with up to 32 participants, improved multitasking support, and seamless device syncing.
Previously, iPad users relied on WhatsApp Web, which lacked several functionalities available on the mobile app. Now, the new version leverages iPadOS capabilities, including Stage Manager and Split View, enabling users to chat while browsing or working simultaneously. Additionally, Meta’s multi-device sync ensures that conversations remain encrypted across all devices, providing an extra layer of security.
Meta has hinted at future updates and feature enhancements, making this launch just the beginning of WhatsApp’s expansion into tablets. The app is now available for global download via the App Store.
