At a star-studded pre-release event in Hyderabad for War 2, Jr NTR expressed gratitude toward Hrithik Roshan and the film’s team, emphasizing that the movie symbolizes Hrithik’s grand entry into Telugu cinema rather than Jr NTR venturing into Bollywood.
Speaking to fans, Jr NTR assured Hrithik Roshan, “This isn’t about me moving to Hindi films; it’s about Hrithik sir coming into Telugu cinema.” He added warmly, “Every fan of mine will keep you in their hearts and take care of you. That is my promise.” Hrithik responded with a heartfelt “Wow.”
Hrithik, reflecting on his journey, thanked the audience for their acceptance and gave special credit to SS Rajamouli for bridging gaps between South and North Indian cinema. “Every South Indian wonders if they will be accepted. Thank you for embracing me with wide and open arms and for the beautiful hug on the first day,” he shared.
Producer Naga Vamsi praised War 2 as a “proper Telugu film” and called on fans to make its Telugu version outgross the Hindi version. “This is not sending NTR to Bollywood, but welcoming Hrithik to Tollywood in a grand way,” Vamsi said, urging fans to ensure the Telugu version collects at least one rupee more than the Hindi version.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 features Hrithik Roshan reprising his role as Major Kabir, facing Jr NTR’s character Vikram. Kiara Advani joins as Hrithik’s love interest and fellow soldier. The film is set for release on August 14 in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.
