Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed the Assembly that the Vigilance Department arrested 270 government and contractual employees between June 12, 2024, and December 21, 2025.
He said the new government intensified its anti-corruption drive soon after assuming office.
Majhi revealed that Vigilance conducted multiple actions against 31 officials during this period. He added that Vigilance courts convicted 187 government employees, leading to strict disciplinary measures. Authorities dismissed 34 employees from service and stopped pensions of 65 others after conviction.
Responding to another question in the Assembly, Majhi stated that Vigilance registered 318 corruption cases since June 12, 2024. Among these, 82 disproportionate assets cases led to raids on the residences and offices of officials. Investigators seized property worth Rs 208.24 crore during these operations.
The Chief Minister confirmed that the crackdown resulted in the arrest of 266 government officials and employees, 12 public servants, and 38 private individuals. He emphasised that the campaign against corruption will continue with greater intensity.
Majhi assured legislators that anyone found guilty will face strict punishment. He reiterated the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in administration.
