Umerkote Addl IIC Caught While Accepting Bribe

Nabarangpur: Odisha Vigilance on late Sunday night apprehended the Additional Inspector In Charge (Addl IIC) of Umerkote Police Station while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000. The Additional IIC has been identified as Limaraj Pradhan. Acting on a tip-off, the Odisha anti-corruption team laid a trap against Limaraj while demanding and accepting cash of Rs.20,000/- from a Complainant in order to not take any action against him in a family dispute matter. The entire bribe money of Rs 20,000/- has been recovered and seized from the exclusive possession of accused Limaraj. A case has been registered in this connection with Koraput Vigilance under section 7 of The Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.
