A tragic incident unfolded in Basta village, where two six-year-old girls lost their lives after accidentally falling into an abandoned ditch while playing.

The victims, Shabana Khatoon and Rijuana, were engaged in outdoor activities near their homes when the accident occurred.

The incident took place around 1:30 PM on Tuesday, when the girls were playing near a deserted area close to their village. Due to the lack of immediate supervision, no one noticed them falling into the ditch. Their families, after a prolonged search, discovered the children floating in the water and rushed them to Basta Medical Center, where doctors declared them dead.

Upon receiving the distressing news, Basta police arrived at the scene, seized the bodies, and initiated further investigation. Authorities are now looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine if negligence played a role.
