Two people died, and three others were critically injured in a horrific road accident on National Highway (NH) 143 in Odisha’s Sundargarh district today.
The injured individuals were promptly taken to Rourkela Government Hospital for treatment.
The accident occurred near the Chandiposh police station. Reports indicate that a speeding truck (Hyva) collided with an SUV (Scorpio), resulting in the immediate deaths of two individuals at the scene. The SUV was severely damaged, and one of the victims died after becoming trapped inside the vehicle.
Emergency services, including a fire services team and police, arrived quickly at the site to initiate the rescue operation.
