Bhubaneswar: Odisha Transport Minister Padmanabha Behera released two books- “Road Accidents in Odisha-2019” and “Integrated Road Safety Action Plan” in the presence of Madhu Sudan Padhi, Principal Secretary, Commerce & Transport Department and Sanjeeb Panda, Transport Commissioner.
Both the books have been compiled by Tapas Mishra, Deputy Director, Commerce & Transport Dept.
Reasons of occurrence of accidents, list of black spots in the districts, the time of occurrence of accidents, and other relevant information have been incorporated in “Road Accidents in Odisha-2019”, which will be helpful to officials in planning their strategies for reduction of fatalities.
“Integrated Road Safety Action Plan” for the State has been developed with a target to reduce fatalities by 20% every year.
Taking into consideration the Action Plan of the departments like Health and Family Welfare, Police, Road Owning Authorities, School and Mass Education, Transport for reduction of road accident fatalities, the Integrated Road Safety Action Plan has been developed.
