The victims include Kashiram Bhoi (APR), Niranjan Kujur (Drill Sub-Inspector), Debadatta Sa (APR), Lingaraj Dhurua (APR Havildar), and Bhaktabandhu Mirdha (Home Guard). Their sudden deaths shocked the district police force and the local community.

The accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, a time when traffic usually remains light. The impact of the crash highlighted the dangers posed by reckless driving on Odisha’s highways. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine whether driver negligence or mechanical failure caused the tragedy.
The Jharsuguda police department mourned the loss of its officers, describing the incident as one of the darkest days in recent memory. The accident underscores the urgent need for stricter enforcement of road safety measures to prevent similar disasters.
