In a tragic turn of events, a tourist bus carrying over 70 Bangladeshi nationals overturned near Uttara Chhak in Bhubaneswar early Sunday morning.
The mishap claimed one life and left more than 15 passengers with severe injuries, some in critical condition.
The bus, en route to Puri after a pilgrimage to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, lost control while navigating the busy intersection, according to initial reports. The injured were immediately rushed to Capital Hospital for urgent medical care.
Local police and fire service teams promptly arrived at the scene and initiated rescue operations. The majority of passengers onboard were Bangladeshi nationals who had reportedly arrived in India via ISKCON Mayapur in West Bengal.
Investigations are underway to uncover the exact cause of the accident. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased passenger.
