Aanand L Rai’s upcoming romantic drama Tere Ishk Mein is off to a strong start at the box office. The film marks Dhanush’s return to Hindi cinema, pairing him with Kriti Sanon in a story set in the universe of Raanjhanaa. Advance bookings opened earlier this week, and the film is already showing impressive momentum.
By 2 pm on Thursday, a day before release, Tere Ishk Mein had sold over 1.3 lakh tickets, generating just under ₹3 crore gross in pre-sales. Trade analysts predict the number may rise to 1.5 lakh tickets by the end of the day. If the trend continues, the film’s advance booking revenue could touch ₹4 crore, a notable achievement for a romantic drama.
The film has also been trending on major ticketing platforms, including BookMyShow. Industry experts believe that a ₹4-crore advance booking could help the film secure a double-digit opening (₹10 crore+) on Friday. Such numbers have been rare for romantic films this year, with only Saiyaara managing to score a double-digit opening.
Beats Sitaare Zameen Par and Jolly LLB 3 in Ticket Sales
With 1.3 lakh tickets sold, Tere Ishk Mein has already outperformed Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par (1.15 lakh) and Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 3 (1.2 lakh) in advance ticket sales. Although those films recorded slightly higher revenue due to premium pricing, Tere Ishk Mein still has many hours of booking time left and may surpass their figures.
