In a deeply disturbing incident from Odisha’s Sundargarh district, a woman was brutally murdered by her own sister over minor financial disputes.
The tragedy escalated when the accused, along with her accomplices, also took the life of a businessman, who was her deceased sister’s employer.
The grim discovery of the two bodies, found in separate locations at Chandiposh and Kutra, set off an intensive investigation. Police have since arrested seven suspects, including the mastermind believed to be the accused sister.
“The deceased woman is the sister of the main accused woman, who is also the mastermind of both murders. Our investigation began after the bodies were recovered from two different locations. We later learned that the deceased woman worked in the businessman’s office,” said Brijesh Kumar Rai, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Western Range.
As the investigation unfolded, it was revealed that a dispute over a minor financial transaction led to the murders. “During the probe, we learned that a tiff broke out between the two sisters over some financial transaction. So, she kidnapped her own sister, killed her, and the businessman, and dumped their bodies in two separate places,” Rai added.
Police have conducted multiple raids and confiscated objects believed to be murder weapons as they continue to piece together the crime. The investigation remains a top priority, with police committed to ensuring justice for the victims.
The shocking incident has left the community in Sundargarh reeling as they await justice for the tragic loss of life.
