A woman was killed and two others were critically injured after being stung by a swarm of honey bees in the Tildega area under Kinjirikela police limits of Sundargarh district.

According to reports, the victims were travelling on a bike to a nearby Shiva temple when they were suddenly attacked by the honey bees. The unexpected attack caused the bike to lose balance and fall into a ditch after hitting a tree, leaving the riders severely injured. Locals who witnessed the incident rushed to their aid and transported them to the Sundargarh District Headquarters Hospital.

Sadly, one of the victims, identified as Devaki Rana, was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. The other two injured individuals were later shifted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute Of Medical Science And Research for further treatment due to the severity of their injuries.

The incident also left a woodcutter, who was working nearby and disturbed the hive, injured. He was taken to the hospital for medical attention. The forest department has initiated an investigation into the incident to determine the exact cause and prevent future occurrences.

This unfortunate event highlights the unpredictable dangers posed by nature and the need for caution in such environments.
