The hanging body of a college student was discovered inside the toilet room of a rented house in Devi Bihar area, under Niali police limits, triggering widespread shock and concern in the locality.
The deceased girl, identified as a native of Ghasipura in Keonjhar district, was residing in Cuttack as a paying guest while pursuing her education at a private college. On Tuesday morning, her lifeless body was found hanging inside the bathroom. Locals quickly alerted the authorities after spotting the disturbing scene.
Police arrived at the location, secured the premises, and sent the body for autopsy. Forensic experts have also been roped in to assist in the probe. Officers stated that investigations are underway to ascertain whether the incident was a case of suicide or if foul play is involved.
