The Odisha government is set to release the third instalment of its flagship Subhadra Yojana on Saturday on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
The financial empowerment scheme, aimed at uplifting women across the state, will benefit over one crore female recipients.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida has arrived in Jeypore to oversee the disbursement event, which will also be attended by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. The ceremony is expected to witness large-scale participation, reflecting the scheme’s widespread impact.
During her visit, Parida will also tour the Kotia region to review developmental initiatives, including discussions with Anganwadi workers and Lakhpati Didis. This marks her first official visit to Kotia since assuming office.
Addressing concerns over excluded applicants, Parida clarified that nearly 2 lakh applications have been forwarded for verification. “No fresh application is needed. Eligible women will receive benefits post-verification,” she assured.
The Subhadra Yojana continues to be a cornerstone of the state’s welfare agenda, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive growth and gender equity.
