The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) launched free psycho-social counselling services for Class 10 and 12 students on January 6, ahead of the 2026 board exams.
The initiative aims to help examinees manage stress and maintain emotional well-being during the examination cycle. Counselling services will continue until June 1, 2026, covering the entire period of preparation and exams. CBSE board exams will start on February 17, 2026, according to the official schedule.
CBSE introduced a 24×7 toll-free Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) helpline at 1800-11-8004. Students can access support in Hindi and English, including guidance on stress-free preparation, time management, frequently asked questions, and CBSE-related contact information.
Tele-counselling services operate from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm on all working days. Students and parents can interact with a panel of 73 trained professionals, including principals, counsellors, special educators, and psychologists. Of these, 61 counsellors are based in India, while 12 are located in Nepal, Japan, Qatar, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates. This network provides wide coverage and voluntary support.
CBSE also uploaded digital resources on its official website. These resources focus on stress management, effective study strategies, and emotional well-being. The board designed them to be concise, engaging, and accessible for students.
Officials encouraged students and parents to actively use these services. The CBSE Board Exams 2026 initiative reflects the board’s commitment to supporting psycho-social well-being and ensuring students prepare confidently for their examinations.
