Preparations for the disbursement of the first instalment under the fourth phase of the Subhadra Yojana are set for December 25.
This initiative, designed to financially empower women, has already disbursed ₹5,000 to each of over 80 lakh beneficiaries in its third phase.
As of December 1, the scheme has received 1,05,36,612 applications. The authorities are accelerating the verification process to accommodate new applicants and those previously overlooked.
By December 6, a list of eligible and ineligible beneficiaries will be published at the block, urban, or municipal levels, with a subsequent 7-day period for lodging complaints.
Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg presided over a high-level meeting on Tuesday to review the progress of application verification. Shubha Sarma, Principal Secretary of the Women and Child Development Department, along with district collectors and municipal corporation officials, attended the virtual meeting.
Field teams, including Anganwadi workers and Bank Mitras, are instructed to assist beneficiaries, address fund transfer issues, and promote awareness. Currently, 8,43,839 applicants need to complete their e-KYC, which is compulsory for those who have applied via OTP.
Help desks are established to facilitate complaint resolution, which will be recorded on the Subhadra portal for expedited handling. Beneficiaries have the option to use the portal for e-KYC completion and to opt out if they choose not to receive the scheme’s benefits.
To date, 18,735 beneficiaries have chosen to opt-out of Subhadra Yojana benefits. The authorities are vigilant in ensuring that no fees are charged for e-KYC completion, focusing on raising beneficiary awareness. The government is dedicated to a seamless and transparent fund disbursement for all eligible individuals.
