Odisha Deputy Chief Minister and Women & Child Development Minister Pravati Parida announced that Subhadra Scheme funds will be credited to beneficiaries’ accounts this week.

The government confirmed that 4,57,681 women will receive financial assistance under the Subhadra Scheme. Among them, 1,78,398 new beneficiaries will get Rs 5,000 for the first time. Additionally, 2,55,265 women who were previously excluded due to application errors will now be included and receive benefits.

The Subhadra Scheme stands as one of Odisha’s flagship women empowerment programs. It provides eligible women with ₹10,000 annually in two instalments of Rs 5,000 each. The initiative aims to strengthen women’s financial independence and support family welfare. Since its launch, lakhs of women have benefited, and the inclusion of new and corrected lists ensures wider coverage.

Minister Parida emphasised that the government remains vigilant to avoid implementation issues. She stated that authorities resolved earlier application discrepancies, allowing previously excluded women to rejoin the scheme. The announcement sparked joy among women across the state, many of whom welcomed the move.

The Subhadra Scheme continues to expand its reach, with the government planning to bring more women under its ambit in the coming days. The program has become a symbol of Odisha’s commitment to women’s empowerment and financial security.
