The National Statistics Office (NSO), under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), is all set to host the “Conference of State Government Ministers on Strengthening of Statistical Systems” on April 5, 2025, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
This pivotal conference aims to stress the importance of producing accurate and timely statistics at both national and sub-national levels, particularly in socio-economic indicators. It seeks to deepen collaboration between the Centre and the States to bolster statistical frameworks and address local needs.
Key discussions will highlight:
- The Support for Statistical Strengthening (SSS) Scheme implementation across States/UTs.
- Enhancing the participation of States/UTs in National Sample Surveys for district-level estimates.
- Innovative strategies, including the compilation of sub-national GDP, IIP, and CPI data.
Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh, along with Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, and senior officials, will attend this significant event aimed at reinforcing India’s statistical infrastructure.
