The Special Task Force (STF) seized a massive haul of ganja near the regulated market committee godown close to National Highway‑57 at Purunakatak in Harabhanga block in Boudh district.
Acting on a tip‑off, the STF team raided the location and recovered 1 quintal, 14 kilograms of ganja packed in multiple packets. The operation was conducted in the presence of Magistrate Sandeep Dhal, Additional Tahasildar of Harbhanga. Revenue Inspector of Purunakatak and Panchayat PEO were also present during the seizure.
Police arrested two traders involved in the illegal trade. Officials confirmed that the contraband was weighed and documented before being taken into custody.
The STF team, comprising five members, carried out the raid successfully. Authorities said further investigation is underway to trace the supply chain and identify other individuals linked to the racket.
