Jyoti Malhotra, a popular YouTuber, who was arrested on allegations of spying for Pakistan, has been sent to 14 days of judicial custody.
Authorities revealed that forensic analysis of Malhotra’s electronic devices uncovered 12TB of digital data, including communications with individuals suspected to be affiliated with Pakistani intelligence. Investigators are also scrutinising purported money trails and privileges she allegedly received during her visit to Pakistan.
Malhotra was produced in court following these revelations, with police emphasizing the gravity of the case. Officials suspect her direct involvement with the ISI, citing special security clearances and VIP treatment documented during her travels. A widely circulated video from her trip shows her being escorted by armed guards, raising further concerns.
While the police have opted not to seek remand at this stage, they continue to examine the source of foreign funds linked to the case. Authorities believe the swift action has potentially averted a national security threat, and further investigations are underway.
