Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar witnessed yet another tragic accident involving a Mo Bus on Friday night, leaving a woman dead and her husband critically injured. The accident occurred under an overbridge in the Tamando police station area when a Mo Bus on Route Number 33 hit multiple vehicles while returning to the Kalinga Nagar depot.

According to eyewitnesses, the bus was speeding recklessly when it struck at least two scooters near a shopping mall. One witness stated that the bus ran over a woman, killing her instantly, and dragged a vehicle for several meters before stopping.

The first impact occurred when the Mo Bus hit a scooter carrying a couple, causing them to fall. The woman pillion rider was crushed under the wheels, leading to her immediate death. Her husband was flung away and rushed to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Tamando police arrived at the scene, arrested the driver, and launched an investigation into the incident. Authorities are still working to confirm the identities of the deceased and injured individuals.

Following the accident, enraged locals vandalized the bus, demanding stricter safety measures. The incident has intensified concerns over rising Mo Bus-related accidents, especially after a minor girl was killed in a similar crash in Nandankanan just a week ago.

Residents have urged the state government and Mo Bus authorities to address safety concerns, enforce speed regulations, and hold reckless drivers accountable to prevent further tragedies.
