Bhubaneswar: The Southwest Monsoon has covered the entire state of Odisha, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Sunday.
On Sunday, Southwest Monsoon became active in the entire state, including the capital Bhubaneswar. Due to the active monsoon, the weather has been cloudy and raining in various districts since Sunday morning, Regional Meteorological Center expert Sanjeev Dwivedi said.
According to the Regional Meteorological Center, Monsoon has reached all the districts a day after the normal time. On Sunday, there was rain in various districts, and from the 26th June, the amount of rain will increase in the state.
Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface windspeed reaching 30-40 kmph is likely in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, and Rayagada districts. Light to moderate rain/thundershower may also occur at a few places in the state.

Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface windspeed reaching 30-40 kmph may occur in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, and Rayagada districts.
Light to moderate rain/thundershower is also likely at one or two places in the state.
JUNE 25
Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface windspeed reaching 30-40 kmph is likely at Jharsuguda, Sundargarh.
Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angui, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, and Rayagada districts. Light to moderate rain/thundershower may also occur at a few places in the state.
JUNE 26
Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface windspeed reaching 30-40 kmph may occur in Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh.
Ganjam, Gajapati, Angul, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Deogarh, and Sundargarh. Heavy rainfall is also likely at one or two – places in Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Jharsuguda, and Sundargarh. Light to moderate rain/thundershower may occur at many places in the state.
