Security Forces achieved a major success in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Tuesday by engaging Maoist insurgents in multiple encounters inside a forested area nearly six kilometres west of Kandulnar village under Modakpal Police Station limits.
Troops opened fire during the operation and eliminated six Maoist cadres. Authorities confirmed that the bodies were recovered from the encounter site. Officials stated that the identities of the deceased are being verified.
The operation unfolded as part of an ongoing anti-Maoist drive in the region. Security Forces intensified their presence in the area to ensure complete sanitisation. They launched search and combing operations to track down any remaining Maoist elements.
Officials highlighted that the success reflects the determination of the forces to secure Bijapur and the surrounding districts from insurgent threats. The operation also underscores the continuing challenges posed by Maoist groups in forested belts of Chhattisgarh.
Security Forces remain on high alert, and reinforcements have been deployed to strengthen control in sensitive zones. The latest success adds to a series of counter-insurgency measures aimed at restoring peace and stability in the region.
