In a significant crackdown, the enforcement team at Simlipal Wildlife Sanctuary arrested six alleged poachers using advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.
The accused have been identified as Budhia Hembram, Rath Singh, Bula Singh, Mithun Hembram, Lakshman Soren, and Pradhan Soren.
AI cameras captured images of the individuals hunting a deer within the protected area. Following this, authorities launched operations across various villages in the Dukura range, resulting in the arrest of the suspects.
The poachers were found with three country-made firearms and other hunting articles.
They have been produced before the Baripada Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court. This development highlights the success of using AI technology to combat illegal poaching activities in Simlipal Wildlife Sanctuary.
