Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Odisha on June 20, marking his sixth trip to the state within a year. The visit includes a grand roadshow in Bhubaneswar and a public event celebrating the BJP’s first year in power.
A high-level security review meeting was held at Biju Patnaik International Airport, attended by officials from the Special Protection Group (SPG), Commissionerate Police, and Fire Services Department. The meeting aimed to finalise security arrangements for Modi’s arrival.
According to the official schedule, PM Modi will land at Bhubaneswar airport at 3:40 PM, receiving a ceremonial welcome. The roadshow will commence at 3:45 PM and culminate at Janata Maidan, where he will address the public and unveil Odisha’s ‘Vision Document.’
Odisha Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena and Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari reviewed preparations at the venue. Security measures across the city have been strengthened. “The SPG team is overseeing arrangements, including a field visit to the airport, roadshow route, and meeting venue,” Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena stated.
PM Modi will depart Bhubaneswar at 5:50 PM for New Delhi following the event. With heightened security and extensive preparations, the visit is expected to be a significant political milestone for the BJP government in Odisha.
