All schools in the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) areas will remain closed on June 20, 2025.
The School and Mass Education Department, in a letter to the District Education Officer of Khordha and Cuttack, has informed about the special holiday for all government-run, aided and private schools in the BMC and CM areas.
The announcement comes as the civic bodies anticipate a huge gathering for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Odisha to join the celebration of the BJP government’s first anniversary on June 20. The directive aimed at ensuring smooth public functioning as authorities anticipate traffic congestion during the grand event.
School administrations and local officials have been informed of the closure, and necessary arrangements are being made. Educational institutions across both cities will comply with the directive.
