In a significant stride toward accessible and quality healthcare, the Mukhyamantri Bayu Swasthya Seva Yojana successfully delivered advanced medical services to 944 residents of Nuapada district, Odisha.
From July 21 to July 24, 2025, a high-level specialist health camp was organised at the Nuapada District Headquarters Hospital, bringing cutting-edge medical care to underserved and remote areas of the district.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Odisha government, saw a team of 11 expert doctors from Shri Ram Chandra Bhanj Medical College and Hospital (SCB), Cuttack, provide specialised consultations and treatments.
The camp was equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, ensuring accurate and timely interventions. Over the four days, patients received care across various specialities, including:
- Urology: 69 patients
- Neurology: 374 patients
- Nephrology: 112 patients
- Cardiology: 164 patients
- Gastroenterology: 153 patients
- Endocrinology: 72 patients
In addition to consultations, the camp facilitated advanced diagnostic procedures, including 61 echocardiograms, 136 ECGs, 12 endoscopies, 24 ultrasounds, 89 X-rays, and 521 other specialised tests, all provided free of cost. Leading specialists, such as Dr. Pramod (Urology), Dr. Suchismita (Cardiology), Dr. Ashwini (Neurology), Dr. Rakesh (Nephrology), and Dr. Gyanaranjan (Hepatology), along with supporting doctors like Dr. Bhavani Shankar, Dr. Bishwajit, Dr. Lincoln, Dr. Sananda, Dr. Sonalika, and Dr. Pankaj Kumar, ensured comprehensive patient care.
The camp addressed a critical need for advanced healthcare in Nuapada, where travelling to urban centres like Bhubaneswar or Cuttack for treatment is often financially and logistically challenging. Patients expressed immense satisfaction with the free, high-quality medical services provided at their doorstep. Local intellectuals and community leaders have lauded the state government for the effective implementation of the Mukhyamantri Vayu Swasthya Seva Yojana, recognising it as a transformative step toward equitable healthcare access.
This initiative underscores Odisha’s commitment to bridging healthcare disparities, ensuring that even the most remote communities receive the benefits of modern medical advancements.
