India’s top men’s doubles pair, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, continued their stellar run at the Hong Kong Open 2025, advancing to the semifinals of the prestigious BWF Super 500 tournament.
The eighth-seeded duo overcame Malaysia’s Arif Junaidi and Roy King Yap in a gripping three-game match, winning 21-14, 20-22, 21-16 in a 64-minute battle.
After a dominant first game, Satwik-Chirag faced stiff resistance in the second, narrowly losing 20-22. However, they bounced back in the decider with aggressive play and seamless coordination, never allowing their opponents to take the lead. They will next face Chen Cheng Kuan and Lin Bing-Wei of Chinese Taipei in the semifinals.
Meanwhile, in men’s singles, Lakshya Sen is set to clash with fellow Indian Ayush Shetty in the quarterfinals later today, promising another exciting showdown for Indian badminton fans.
