A bomb threat sent shockwaves across Kerala, targeting the Chief Minister’s office and official residence, Cliff House, as well as the Cochin International Airport early today.
Emails warned of explosives, prompting immediate security measures at all three locations.
Both the Chief Minister’s office and residence were cordoned off by Kerala Police. Bomb squads and sniffer dogs conducted searches, ensuring a thorough inspection of the premises. Fortunately, no explosives have been found at either location so far.
Similarly, Kochi Airport’s security ramped up after receiving an email at 7:53 AM claiming an RDX-based explosive was planted at the airport. Authorities quickly convened the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) and initiated anti-sabotage checks, covering all airport terminals. Airlines operating in the southern region were directed to enhance security protocols.
While the situation is still unfolding, officials continue to monitor and investigate the threats. A formal complaint has been filed with local police, with all stakeholders duly informed.
