Aryna Sabalenka defeated Elena Rybakina 6-4, 6-3 to reach the Miami Open 2026 final against Coco Gauff.
Sabalenka Sets Up Summit Clash
World number one and defending champion Sabalenka showcased her dominance in the semi-final, breaking Rybakina twice in each set. The Belarusian star had previously lost to Rybakina in the Australian Open final but turned the tables at Indian Wells earlier this month. In Miami, she once again proved her superiority.
Sabalenka registered nine aces, including four in a row during the opening set, and applied relentless pressure on Rybakina’s serve. She seized control early, pocketed the first set, and maintained momentum in the second. Rybakina fought back briefly, but Sabalenka closed the match with a love game, finishing with a fierce forehand winner.
After the victory, Sabalenka praised her opponent. “She’s an incredible player and always pushes me to the limit. With her, you have to bring your best tennis,” she said. She added that she was excited to face Gauff in the final, calling it “a battle filled with rallies, emotions, aggression, and fun.”
Gauff Awaits in Final
American star Coco Gauff reached the final after defeating Karolina Muchova 6-1, 6-1. The highly anticipated clash between Sabalenka and Gauff will take place on March 28, promising fireworks as two of the brightest stars in women’s tennis face off.
