Bhubaneswar: Rituals at the 11th century Lingaraj temple have once again come to a halt after two sections of servitors entered into a dispute over the ‘Paitalagi Niti’.
According to sources, offering of ‘bhog’ to Lord Lingaraj came to a grinding halt since Monday evening due to the conflict between two groups of servitors over the ‘Paita Lagi’ ritual.
Earlier also, the Badu Nijog and Puja Panda servitors were involved in disagreement over the ritual, leading to disruption of the other rituals in the 11th-century shrine.
Many said that this problem arose due to the negligence of the temple administration with the State government remaining silent on the affairs of the shrine.
