The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Bhubaneswar, hosted a Field Level Financial Literacy Event (FLFLE) at Berhampur University, Ganjam District, Odisha.
Attended by over 450 participants, the event aimed to enhance financial awareness among diverse groups, including students, farmers, women from self-help groups (SHGs), and senior citizens.
Prominent dignitaries like Smt. Anita Patnaik, General Manager, RBI, highlighted the importance of financial security and precautionary measures in her keynote address, while Prof. Geetanjali Dash, Vice Chancellor of Berhampur University, emphasized the significance of financial literacy in today’s digital age.
The event included engaging sessions on financial planning, savings, responsible borrowing, investment, insurance, pension schemes, and cyber fraud awareness. Participants were introduced to the Vidya Lakshmi portal for education loans, counterfeit currency detection, and the RBI’s Grievance Redressal Mechanism. The program also featured interactive activities, audio-visual presentations, and the distribution of informative leaflets.
This initiative reflects RBI’s commitment to fostering financial inclusion and empowering citizens to make informed financial decisions as part of its RBI@90 commemoration.
