Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Wednesday refused to intervene in the directions of the State government which has permitted the conduct of the Rath Yatra only at Puri this year in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.
A day before the Snana Yatra, the State apex court rejected five petitions filled before it seeking permission to hold the Rath Yatra at two places including Baladevjew in Kendrapara, popularly known as Tulasi Khetra and Bhatli and said that it cannot intervene in the directions of the Odisha government.
The court refused to intervene in the matter by quashing all the pleas.
Earlier this month, the State Government cancelled Ratha Jatra in all parts of the state, except Puri in view of the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic.
