Gujarat: The canopy outside Rajkot airport terminal in Gujarat collapsed due to heavy rainfall on Saturday.
As per reports canopy broke during maintenance work to remove accumulated water. No one was injured in the incident. A detailed report has been sought.
This comes a day after a similar incident at Delhi Airport’s Terminal 1 claimed the life of one person and injured some others.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a ‘yellow alert’ for South Gujarat, predicting the possibility of heavy showers on Saturday. Gujarat is very likely to experience an active wet spell over the next five days,” the IMD stated in a release.
Reports indicate that a canopy collapsed during maintenance work to clear accumulated water. Fortunately, there were no injuries in the incident. A detailed report is awaited on the matter.
This event comes after a recent tragedy at Delhi Airport’s Terminal 1, where in a similar collapse one person got killed and some others suffered injuries.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘yellow alert’ for South Gujarat forecasting heavy rainfall on Saturday. The state is expected to undergo heavy rainfall in the coming five days, according to the IMD’s announcement.
