Rajgir, Bihar, has secured its place on the global sports map as it prepares to host the Asia Cup 2025. Scheduled from August 29 to September 7, the tournament will be held at the newly inaugurated Rajgir Hockey Stadium.
This milestone was achieved following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Hockey India and the Bihar State Sports Authority.
This marks Rajgir’s second significant international event, following the successful hosting of the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024, where India triumphed. The 12th edition of the Asia Cup will feature eight competing teams, including powerhouses like India, Pakistan, Japan, Korea, China, and Malaysia, with the remaining two earning their spots via the AHF Cup.
South Korea, the tournament’s most successful team with five titles, will face strong competition from India and Pakistan, each with three victories. Adding to the excitement, the Asia Cup will serve as a qualifier for the 2026 FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup, with the champion earning a direct berth.
