Bhubaneswar: The IMD has predicted rain or thunderstorm in several districts of Odisha on May 18 (Thursday).
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Koraput, Rayagada and Keonjhar and at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Dhenkanal, Angul and Deogarh on May 18, said the IMD regional centre here today.
Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places in Gajapati, Ganjam, Koraput, Rayagada, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, and Nayagarh districts on Thursday. Similarly, thunderstorm accompanied by lightning is also very likely to occur at a few places in Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Kandhamal, Malkangiri and Dhenkanal districts today.
