Security concerns have escalated in Puri following the discovery of threatening messages scribbled near the revered Jagannath Temple.
The graffiti, found on the walls of Budhi Maa Thakurani temple close to the Balisahi entrance of the Srimandir Heritage Corridor, triggered swift police action.
Puri Superintendent of Police Pinak Mishra confirmed that investigators have uncovered “crucial clues” and are analysing CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators. A phone number found alongside the messages is also under scrutiny.
“Our special team is working around the clock. We’re prioritising the security of the Heritage Corridor and verifying the functionality of surveillance systems in the area,” Mishra stated.
While some CCTV installations remain pending, authorities are confident that the leads will help trace those responsible for the alarming act. The investigation remains active, with heightened vigilance around the temple premises.
