With the Bahuda Yatra and the Sunabesa darshan of Lord Jagannath drawing massive footfall in Puri, the district police have issued a comprehensive traffic advisory to ensure smooth vehicular movement and crowd management during the upcoming rituals.
The guidelines detail specific routes and parking zones for vehicles arriving from key entry points—Brahmagiri, Bhubaneswar, and Konark—along with shuttle services for easier last-mile connectivity.
Four-Wheeler Movement and Parking:
Vehicles entering Puri from Brahmagiri can travel up to Mangalaghat and Sterling Chhak, with parking available via Jagannath Ballav and Old Jagannath Ballav roads. From Bhubaneswar, four-wheelers are allowed up to RTO, Balia Nagar, and Grid Station, with designated parking at nearby zones. Vehicles from Konark may access Talabania, Bada Danda, and Blue Flag Beach, with parking arranged at the Indoor Stadium, Talabania, and Bada Danda, channeled through Jagannath Ballav for regulated movement.
Two-Wheeler Access and Zones:
Two-wheelers from Brahmagiri will park at Janata Maidan and Talabania, while those from Bhubaneswar are guided to the Market Building and Talabania. Riders from Konark can park at Blue Flag Beach and Talabania. All routes converge via the Jagannath Ballav corridor to prevent congestion around Bada Danda and the temple periphery.
Three-Wheeler Shuttle Services:
Special three-wheeler shuttle routes have been deployed to assist senior citizens and differently-abled devotees. From Talabania, vehicles will follow Water Works Road–Odisha Bakery–Ram Mandir, dropping passengers near Shreekhetra Colony and Mangala Mandir. The same service applies from Batagaon Chhaka. On the Brahmagiri side, shuttles are permitted till Sterling Chhak via Mangalaghat, with fixed drop-off and return paths.
24×7 Helpline Support:
A round-the-clock helpline (06752-232951) has been activated to provide real-time traffic updates, complaint redressal, and guidance for both commuters and pilgrims.
The police urge the public to cooperate with the advisory to ensure a safe and spiritually enriching experience for all.
