Kolkata Police arrested a Pune law student, Sharmistha Panoli, in Gurugram on Friday night after she allegedly posted a video containing offensive remarks regarding Operation Sindoor.
The video, initially shared on Instagram, sparked outrage online and led to an FIR being registered in Kolkata.
According to police sources, multiple attempts to serve legal notices to Panoli failed, prompting the court to issue an arrest warrant.
Following her detention, Panoli publicly apologised on social media, stating that she never intended to hurt anyone and that she would be more cautious in her future posts.
Authorities continue to investigate the matter, underscoring the growing concerns over social media discourse and its impact on public sentiments.
