The Orissa High Court has issued notices to the Transport Secretary and the State Transport Authority (STA), seeking replies in connection with a case related to Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUCC) enforcement.
The case was filed challenging the imposition of fines on vehicles without pollution checks. Petitioners argued that issuing challans without proper pollution testing amounts to an arbitrary action and violates provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Responding to the plea, the High Court directed the Transport Secretary and STA to submit their replies within 15 days. The court has scheduled the next hearing for January 30, 2026.
