The Private Bus Owners’ Association announced that all private buses in Cuttack will stop operating from January 24 if the government fails to resolve their demands by January 23.
Association secretary Debendra Sahu stated that the dispute centres on the Mukhyamantri Bus Seva, which currently runs from block headquarters to district headquarters. Private bus owners argue that the scheme affects their livelihood and have demanded its suspension.
Sahu warned, “If the issue is not resolved, all private buses in Cuttack will remain off the roads from January 24. No buses from outside will be allowed to enter the city.”
The association also announced plans to submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister. They cautioned that if the government ignores their demands, bus services across the entire state will be shut down after January 24.
