To advance the state’s development at a rapid pace, it is essential to complete various infrastructure projects within the stipulated timeframe and prepare plans for new initiatives. In the past year, the Works Department achieved a milestone by completing projects on schedule and utilising budget funds effectively. Continuing this momentum, Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan today reviewed the department’s project-wise expenditure to ensure strong performance in infrastructure construction this year as well.

Presiding over a meeting at the conference hall of Lok Seva Bhavan, the Minister examined the progress of major state projects and budget spending. He directed officials to accelerate expenditure, conduct quality checks on all works, and prioritise the development and expansion of new roads recently transferred from other departments to the Works Department.

Special discussions focused on the early completion of flagship projects including Ekamra, Samlei and Abadha, along with various road, building and bridge schemes. The Minister issued clear instructions to departmental officials for their swift finalisation.

The meeting was attended by Engineer-in-Chief and Special Secretary Er. Laxmikant Padhi, EIC (Civil) Er. Satyabrata Behera, EIC (Roads) Er. Dhyanchand Nayak, Financial Advisor Ratikant Mahapatra, along with other senior departmental officials and Chief Engineers.
